What actually did Nokia do wrong? Where did they miss it? Were they not able to manage change?

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

It is how to initiate change continuously and incorporate that change into a managed corporate environment. It is a collective term for all approaches to prepare, support and help individuals, teams and organizations in making organization change.

It managing change, it should be noted that change happens continuously and technology changes.

What did #Iphone do right?

They explored, they went back to startup stage and of course they sought creative ways to bring new ideas/concepts to the market.

What Nokia did wrong?

They settled at looking at just efficiencies and things to do to improve what was already in the market. In their internal environment, they suffered from organizational fear and slow adaptation to their changing environment.

REQUIRE MINDSET A LEADER NEEDS TO HAVE IN CHANGE MANAGEMENT

1.     They need to have the power to constantly challenge the status quo

2.     Collaborative leadership style should be mandatory

3.     Innovative processes should be encouraged at all levels

There are six steps to planning a successful change strategy.

1.     Defining the change direction.

2.     Analyze the change

3.     Identify change objectives

4.     Plan the tasks

5.     Readiness assessment

6.     Implementation of change

WHY CHANGE ENCOUNTERS RESISTANCE

·        Lack of conviction that change is needed

·        Not having the right values that support change.

·        Dislike of imposed change.
